Fantastic Winter weather greeted the enthusiastic group who headed to Glenmalure for the week end. Despite horrendous forecasts the group was rewarded with a beautiful calm, snowy white day. Views were splendid apart from the last 50m or so of height around the summit of Lugnaquilla.
Great route led by Mick Wall for the Moderate walk which went from Drumgoff Recreation car park to Lug and returned via Kelly’s Lough. Mick would like it recorded in his favour that he returned with more people that he started out with!
Mick Kielthy led a slightly easier walk, with amazing views on the Southern side of the Aughavanagh road, to Crohanmoira and Faneneireann.
With brighter forecasts for day 2, here’s looking forward to more Wicklow adventures!
