IMG_2645A hardy troupe travelled to Rathgormack on Sun for the Mod+ walk. The walk began through the woods below the Boolas in clear conditions with views of snow covered mountains. Following an ascent of the easy gully behind the pinnacle in the Boolas the

group battled head on winds as they progressed towards Coumlara. Swirling gusts made progress up Coumlara very slow. Conditions across the plateau to 792m were more bearable. The route followed the rim of Coumshingaun and then across to Crotty’s rocks. Descent was between the buttresses and across the high moraine. A short climb out of the upper coum brought the spur of the Boolas into view. The group returned through the woods damp, weather beaten and maybe a little tired!
