The annual climbing trip to warm rock this year was to Sella in the Alicante region of SE Spain. The accommodation at Casaroc was an ideal base in a really beautiful, historic town.
Climbing crags visited included Sella, Abdet, Castellets, Marin, Forada and Guadalest.
A big highlight of the trip was the team effort on the 14 pitch Espolon Central route on Puig Campana. A group of 12 completed the route in style.
Some group members stepped up the grades in terms of their own climbing with a number leading 6a,6a+, 6b and two members leading 7a. The many sessions at indoor climbing walls over the Winter months paid off.
Huge thanks, yet again, goes to Colin Gibbon whose enthusiasm and organisation really drives this annual event.
Here’s hoping for sunny weather at home now so that the outdoor climbing season can begin.
