Club members who made the journey to Kilcash last Sunday were unfortunately not rewarded with views from the summit of Slievenamon. Whilst there was little or no rain both walk groups spent much of the day in low cloud.
The ‘Easy’ route followed some tracks through an enchanting woodland on the SE slopes of the mountain and took the very well defined ‘tourist track’ to return to Kilcash.
The ‘Moderate’ walk took a longer loop over Carrickbrock and Carrickabrock before reaching the summit.
By coincidence both groups met in the fog on the summit before following the same route back to the cars.
