A terrific route in early November was led by Turlough and had a sense of a really full ‘mountain day’. Starting from Kilclooney the group headed in a Southerly direction and took an interesting ‘broken ground’ route to the plateau above. A calm, sunny lunch spot overlooking the Mahon Valley was very welcome. The study of sheepdogs rounding up the sheep on the opposite side of the valley provided lunchtime entertainment. The route continued through the ‘high point’ of the Comeraghs and then followed down the Northern spur of Coumshingaun before returning back to the carpark.
