A group of twenty walkers took part in the “easy” walk on Sunday 13th October (“easy” is defined as 8-10 k and a climb of less than 500m) ; many of them first timers on the hills. After a gentle climb to Barnamadra Gap with its painted ! standing stone (see picture above) and a lunch stop in the nearby stone enclosure (dating from the Bronze Age) in the company of walkers from the Comeragh Club, the group descended to the historic Araglin Valley with its ritual and settlement complex of the early Bronze Age.
