Eleven club members have successfully completed the Mountain Skills assessment last week end in the Comeraghs. A written exam was followed by a personal hill-gear check. Weather conditions on Sat were absolutely horrendous and great credit is due to the candidates who had to navigate in gale force winds with near horizontal rain. Sunday was a brighter, showery day and candidates showed their skills in feature recognition. The positive completion of this course adds to the strength of the club with a greater number of members who have upgraded their skills both in 1st aid and navigation. Well done to all, and the club committee will be delighted to include any of these members as assistant leaders on the Autumn schedule if they so wish.
