Saturday’s walk was from The Glen of Imaal up on to Table Mountain and back to overnight accommodation at Glenmalure Lodge. Sunday’s more leisurely walk took in part of the Wicklow Way leading up towards Mullacor , down to the Shay Elliot monument and back to the Lodge.
Participants on the weekend were conscious of a mountain rescue drama continuing for much of Saturday night and early Sunday morning from the ambulance waiting outside Glenmalure Lodge with blue light flashing continuously and mountain rescue personnel on standby for the return of their colleagues with the injured party.
